What the Journy team has been hyped about this week
Get your passports out and your Google Maps ready—it’s time for our greatest discoveries of the week!
For the tropical flavors of our favorite hippie beach town, Tulum, in downtown Manhattan, pull up a char at Gitano. The Soho hotspot has a serene vibe and ambiance, with palm trees and lots of space to spread out and relax to chill, house music. A perfect way to end the summer in style.
New York Fashion Week had a great run, and now London is taking over. In between shows, you might catch a glimpse of your favorite Instagrammers at Bob Bob Ricard. Every table at this chic bar has a ‘Press for Champagne’ button and we can’t think of a better way to toast to a fashion-fueled day.
Get your forks at the ready. There’s a new 20-seat southern Thai restaurant in Bangkok and foodies everywhere are singing its praises. Sorn’s decor is just as varied as its menu, with arched-metal works, wood accents, green plants, and Art Deco dining rooms. There’s a 5-course menu, so come hungry.
It’s sakura season in Tokyo and the crowds are flocking to Ueno Park for the best views. The teahouse is one of the park’s major landmarks and despite a rustic facade, the interior is renovated. It’s a picturesque spot any time of year, but sakura season is a must. Come during the day for a light lunch or opt for a romantic dinner.
