One of the biggest challenges of traveling during the holidays is knowing what restaurants are open and when. There's nothing worse than wandering around on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, cold and hungry, looking for a decent place to have a meal. (We've been stuck in a few "Chinese takeout on Christmas" situations ourselves!)
Lucky for you, we called our favorite spots to see when they're open this holiday season and compiled a list. Here goes!
Poilane Bakery (Open As Usual) - 6th Arrondissement
Open from 7:15am - 8:15pm all throughout the holiday season, closed Sundays.
8 Rue du Cherche-Midi, 75006 | +33 1 45 48 42 59
This world-renowned French bakery near the Notre-Dame Cathedral is the perfect place for breakfast. Bread here is based on a secret family recipe, and the croissants and tartes truly can't be beat.
Du Pain Et Des Idees (Open Christmas Eve) - 10th Arrondissement

34 Rue Yves Toudic, 75010 | +33 1 42 40 44 52
Make the effort to come here on Christmas Eve, the only day it's open during the holiday season. Their famous escargot chocolate and pistachio pastry is a must-have. This simple, old-school and traditional bakery is a favorite of many Parisians.
Ob-Di-La (Reopens January 2nd) - 3rd Arrondissement
Closed through January 1st. Reopens on Saturday, January 2nd as usual from 9AM-6PM Saturdays and Sundays, 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday.

L’Avant Comptoir is a super fun French-style "tapas" bar with amazing food and wine. It's also one of the spots Bourdain visited on his last episode of No Reservations.
This is one of the ultimate local French hangouts. Standing room only, you’ll need to use your elbows to push past and find a spot along the bar. Once you do, there’s fantastic communal bread and house-made butter, and a menu that exists only along the ceiling.
All items are served as small bites and they are incredible, ranging from skewers of foie gras with piquillo peppers (5 Euro) to the Comptoir Burger (9 Euro) to delicately sweet scallops served on their shell (5 Euro). Wines by the glass are also delicious for 5 Euro a glass, 25 Euro a bottle.

Famed Israeli chef Eyal Shani was thinking way outside of the falafel box when he conceived Miznon. A fine dining restaurant with fried chicken on the menu. Our kind of place. There's a 7 course tasting menu on offer here, or you can head to the casual wine bar downstairs (no reservations) that serves lighter fare accompanied by a stellar wine list.
